This wine is from Hacienda Araucano, from the Colchagua Valley in Chile and owned by Francois Lurton. The grape type is now the indigenous grape of Chile, the Carmenere grape. For years, it was thought to be Merlot, and grew alongside in the Merlot vineyards, but was eventually recognised as its own clone and has been grown independently now for some time.
Not only is this classic red delicious on its own, it is fantastic with a wide variety of foods.
It's a fat , juicy, plumy, full bodied red, soft and smooth. The Reserva label means it has been aged in oak barrels. Highly recommended!!
